About BCSRA
The Evaluation Committee which is a sub committee of the Joint Committee of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Institute of Cost and Management
Accountant of Pakistan has been giving the Best Corporate Report (BCR) Awards in
Pakistan since 2000 and ‘Best Sustainability Report’ since 2011. The winners are
also nominated for SAFA Best Annual Reports Award.
The objective is to recognize excellence in corporate reporting, promote accountability
& transparency and recognizing the responsible reporting by companies covering economic,
environment and social performance of the business. The annual reports are adjudged
for Awards on the basis of a criteria. Awards are given to top three positions followed
by Merit Certificates for reports achieving the minimum benchmark. There is a separate
criteria for Non-Profit Organizations which may have been formed under different
laws viz. Companies Act, 2017, Societies Act, 1860, Social Welfare Ordinance, 1961
and Trust Act, 1882 or through special legislations. The companies are encouraged
to fill self-assessment checklist available along with the Criteria, on the website
of both the Institutes. The Awards are given from 13 categories viz. (1). Banks,
(2). Insurance, (3). NBFIs & Mutual Funds (4). Chemicals & Fertilizers, (5). Engineering
& Autos, (6). Fuel & Energy, (7). Cement, (8). Sugar, (9). Textile, (10). Pharmaceuticals,
(11). FMCG, (12) NPOs, and (13). Others.

The participation in this competition is encouraged for:
- Listed companies
- Public sector companies both listed and unlisted;
- Large size companies;
- NPOs and Mutual Funds / Assets Management Companies.
